The cast basalt wear-resisting gate valve is designed for slurry, ash handling, and other abrasive media systems where conventional gate valves are exposed to severe wear and short service life.
The valve mainly consists of a valve body, gate plate, stem, driving mechanism, and fused cast basalt lining. The valve body is made from cast steel for reliable strength under demanding working conditions. Wear-resistant alloy or stainless-steel materials are used to manufacture the valve gate in order to handle frequent operation and abrasive media more effectively.
The fused cast basalt lining installed in its flow channel and gate sealing surfaces is the key wear-resistant component of this valve. Known for its high hardness and strong abrasion resistance, cast basalt helps significantly extend valve service life under demanding slurry conveying conditions. According to application data, the wear resistance of cast basalt is approximately 36 times higher than carbon steel and 9 times higher than manganese steel, allowing the valve to achieve a much longer operating life than conventional gate valves in abrasive media systems.

Applications

Cast basalt wear-resisting gate valves are widely used in thermal power generation, mining, metallurgy, chemical processing, and other industries exposed to abrasive media handling conditions. In ash handling systems at thermal power plants, the valve is used to control the transport of ash slurry and slag materials under continuous wear conditions. It is also commonly installed in tailings and slurry conveying pipelines in mining operations for reliable material transport and reduced wear-related shutdowns.
